I teach a Freshmen girls Bible study on Friday Mornings, what should i teach on tomorrow?

We Answered:

I love a lesson in prayer!!! Quite often we skip over the little stuff and shoot straight to the "hard stuff". This is a big mistake. Start by asking them "What does Christ look like?" You will get several answers that differ. Then ask them who is Christ. Again you will get several different answers. Then explain not one of them is wrong. Explain that Christ is what they believe. Now challenge them to picture this Christ their Christ in their mind. Have them close their eyes and just paint the picture. Ask them questions like what is he wearing where is he what is he doing anything that will help paint a picture. Once they seem to have accomplished this offer them one more challenge. Challenge them rather than speaking into space or uttering repetetive prayer to just take this image of their Christ and speak to him out loud or in their head and just have a conversation with him. This will be easier for some than others but in the end overall this is an extremely beneficial activity that will assist greatly in the development of their prayer life!

Tracy Said:

What is a good Bible study program that is similar to BSF (Bible Study Fellowship)?

We Answered:

Do your own Bible study through the Bible.

Here is a website that teaches the meaning of every verse of every Book in the Bible: http://www.soniclight.com/constable/note…

Start in John, and do it chapter by chapter. When done with John, go on to Acts, and so on :) When done with Revelation, go to Genesis and study through the Old Testament, and then onto the New Testament again :)

Shawn Said:

Christians what resources are you using or have used to study Theology outside the Bible?

We Answered:

C.S. Lewis is almost essential for being an intelligent 21st century Christian. Francis Schaeffer's work, especially "The God Who Is There" and "How Then Do We Live." This was the stuff that really strengthened me after I was first born again in the 80s. At the current moment the most important teachers out there are N.T. Wright and Tim Keller. Just google their names, or go to your big local bookstore. John Piper is pretty vital as well, and whenever you're down or feeling doubt or pain, Brennan Manning is the man to read. Going back a few years, Charles Spurgeon's stuff from the 19th century holds up amazingly well. If you really want to stretch your brain as well as your spirit, read "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer or anything by Reinhold Niebuhr. Of course anything by Wesley, Luther, or Augustine is always good - don't let Augustine's being a Catholic put you off, he worked in the 3rd-4th centuries before that church became corrupted. (Speaking of Catholics, Fulton J. Sheen's work is 98% excellent, as he was speaking to people first as a Christian and only secondly as a Catholic.) I'd also recommend Peter Kreeft, William Lane Craig, and Thomas (Thom) Howard, if you're "philosophically" inclined.
But here's the point. Keep Jesus at the center, and the Bible as your main resource. We are called to follow Jesus, not to attend churches or read books or study theologians. If these books don't help you follow Jesus or enhance your daily walk with him, forget 'em. Best wishes!

Pearl Said:

Can I upload a Bible Study onto my computer, and be able to type on it?

We Answered:

Uploading implies you are placing files on another computer. If you are uploading to your computer, you would have to do so from another computer. If you are on your computer, you can download content from another computer.

I think you may be talking about scanning text from a piece of paper and converting it into editable text. This is possible using a scanner and an OCR (optical character recognition) program. However, even the best OCR program is not perfect and sometimes the manipulation (editing text and eliminating image boxes) it requires takes just as much time as typing it from scratch.

As far as bible study, I would create a blog and allow open discussion on a particular study. You can post the study and others could post their thoughts to your post. You can create a blog using http://www.blogger.com

Bible study for Tween girls?

We Answered:

Bless you for taking on this responsibility!

I teach a bible study program called Breakout (from Saddleback Baptist Church originally) for 3rd - 6th graders. It is an awesome program - and the kids love it!

The best advice I can give you is to teach them to love the Lord - teach them what the Bible says - the rest will follow. When they begin to understand that God loves them and how important they are to him, they will begin to think more of themselves and less of having to impress their classmates!

Good luck, and God bless!

What are some good, convicting small group bible study books?

We Answered:

Get on line to CBN and get "Foundations of Our Faith." I wish I could a copy out to all the nut cases claiming the Bible isn't true. May the peace and love of Jesus the Christ descend upon you.
