I'm a marketing student so i know quite a bit about this. Allot of subliminal is illegal for commercial purposes. you will be fine for science fair project. recreate the first instance of visual subliminal messaging. In a movie theater movie there are 24 frames per second. one frame per second was a coke banner ad. This practice was used in the 1930's. it cause a 70% increase in coke sales at the intermission . because the people exposed to the ad were not aware of it and could not consiously make a decision about wether to buy its was declared illegal. Another coke example croped up in the 80s a coke poster featured a ice cude. In sillouette a naked women could be seen this caused males to inexplicably be attracted to the ad. Subliminal adversising works because we subconcously see something (or hear) that we are attracted to. it is illegal because it affects us but we are unaware of it. great topic for your science fair good luck

Look at the effect of various solutes on freezing point depression and boiling point elevation. These are topics in physical chemistry.

Get a good thermometer, or ask you chemistry teacher to let you work in the lab after school.

Select various solutes (all should be 100% pure)
-Sucrose (sugar)
-Sodium chloride (sea salt)
-Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
-Various sugar substitutes (make sure 100% pure)
-Calcium sulfate (plaster of paris)
-Monosodium glutamate (MSG)
-Citric acid
-

Weigh out the solutes very carefully and make several solutions of each of known concentration.

Then, try to use the principles demonstrated in these experiments to determine the molecular weight of a substance.
