Im not sure about New haven but most Lulu Lemon stores (if you have one) has a list of yoga places in the area and they almost always have free trial classes; usually one or two.. if your really lucky a week.. lulu also does it out of the store I don't know if its free or not but considering its in a store it might be relatively cheap.

All depends on the attitude of the cops and people in the area. Most likely the cops won't do anything unless someone complains.

Ruta Maya off of S. Congress have some yoga classes weekday evenings. It's free (pretty sure) but you're supposed to buy a coffee/tea. Also there's a place that does free classes on Sunday outside at Town Lake http://www.mindfulrevolution.com/prices.…
I remember the Austin Rec Center used to have free classes on the weekend, but I don't know if they still do that or not.

I don't know of any completely free classes but Yoga to the People on St. Mark's is donation-based so you can leave any amount of money that you can manage. It's a really great, popular studio.
