Master's in Public Health...?We Answered:
There are so many jobs that you can get with a MPH in a variety of areas. Depending on what concentration you decide (epidemiology, health promotion/behavioral science, biostats, environmental, management/policy) there are differences in income after graduation. Biostatistics is probably the concentration the fewest people choose and therefore you can make a decent amount of money as a statistician following graduation. Epidemiology is also another good field. In epi, you can work for the goverment (CDC) or corporate companies. Health promotion and behavioral sciences focuses on prevention, intervention, and changing people's behaviors to promote health. Personally, in my research I've found that these HPBS jobs are a little lower paying when you only have an MPH. For the environmental concentration, you can work in health policy with the govt or other advocacy groups. In the management and administration concentration, you can work as a hospital administrator and work on how to make health systems run efficiently. In general, with a MPH, there are a lot of very different jobs. The way I went about researching possible jobs was to look at a job site (check link below). I think with an MPH, you need to remember that you're not in it for the money, but more for what you can do for other people. However, you can live and find a job, with an MPH. If you do decide to go for an MPH, make sure to pick a concentration that you will enjoy and are interested in.
Good luck!

So, I'm pretty much not going to get a job, huh?We Answered:
You know what, you've got some good things going for you, and some bad things going for you.On the plus side, public health is desperate for people is MPH's as you probably know, because almost no one in the field actually has a masters, and the field as a whole is "growing older" and is retiring soon. If you can hold on for a little bit, get some certificates -- even online ones from brick and mortar schools like USF or Dexel -- to help your case, hopefully the old generation will leave and you'll be in good standing.
The bad side is that while they are desperate for health educators, health educators don't get paid anything at all. It's pretty pathetic what they make with a masters. If you want to eventually teach, you'll have stiff competition from people from Johns Hopkins who managed to snag one of the, uh, 2 CDC fellowships they offer yearly.
So, in short -- you're not screwed depending on what you want to do. Augument what you have with certificates (they don't take long) from CEPH accredited schools -- check out ASPHA.org for listings. However, if you want to teach or play with the big boys at the CDC, it will be difficult. I still wish you all the best!

I'm tired Of Being Single? We Answered:
you seem like a genuinely good person. so my advice is just to hope and pray and put out a little effort. go out with some friends and try to meet new people. even if you only meet some new girlfriends then thats okay too. because if you start hanging out with them, then they will introduce you to their group of friends (which will most likely include guys) and they will be totally new to you. just take some iniative, but dont seem desperate. with any luck, you will find someone :)now that you are out of school it should be easier to focus on relationships. nad good job for making it thru school:))

Why is this case not as widely reported as the Lacrosse case?We Answered:
The media fundamentally agree with this guy's activism; therefore, it would be politically correct to "out" his reprehensible behavior. I saw this story today on Michelle Malkin's blog.Sarah Said:
