An excellent thought for another KPO ( knowledge process out sourcing ). Presently, the concept of online tuition is very new, and confine to very high end knowledge only. Hence it is very difficult to give you an exact figure to charge.

You are expected to, study their " syllabus " first, before attempting to teach them online. Secondly, your knowledge and mode of teaching should be accepted by the students, there. Hence, please work on it, before deciding the fee. Being the subjects are Maths and Science, you can ask for, any where above US$ 1.00 per hour. Remember, you have to pay an average of Rs. 20.00 per hour for internet, and presently 1 US$ = INR 39.00. What about your home work and very precious time. Good luck.

I don't know about online tutoring. I think it's not popular in Australia.

I think if you have done face to face tutoring in the US, you will find the Australian market similar. The market for this is really divided into one to one or teaching for coaching company. In the one to one market you can either join some local companies that advertise to get customer then you get a cut of the fee. But they would ask you for qualifications ... If you do it on your own, you will need to get started somewhere probably at very low fee then eventually get the introduction. This may means you need to stick a few little notes in community notice boards at supermarkets or at schools ... Some times you will find that people try to save money by suggesting that you tutor 2-3 kids at their house and they pay you hourly rate. As people get to know you and see that you can do a good job, they will introduce their friends. Then you can have a little business where you drive from one house to the next in a circle and back to your place (to save time and fuel).

Working for coaching companies that do are labeled "hot houses" is a different game altogether. They only hire qualified teachers but they get you to coach 30 kids in a class in purely instructional manner. This is low quality coaching. Then they hire University students to watch over these kids doing problem solving (purely childcare business here). You would not want to do this childcare job as it pays very little. The teaching job is probably just as frustrating as you just give lectures to 30 little kids not knowing if they understand anything that you say.

Go to google or yahoo and type in BBC revisewise KS3. I think it's KS3, just type in whatever the Key Stage it is. Hope that helps. I use that site sometimes. It helps with every subject and of course, Math.

I used it to revise for the test, by the way. A good site .
