Does a online BS Degree in psychology with out any clinical experience get me a good job?We Answered:
Excellent chances as a 50 yer old ! You know what to say, to land the job!!!!! You have been through so much in your life and something moved you toward this field of study I am sure so USE IT!Things are changing
APA accreditation is not a big deal to each and every employer.... (It's not either.... for you nay sayers). Don't mind the the folk that think other wise do the research!
I am so sick of these message boards and folks that hate on the online programs or professional schools... I just graduated with a BS in clinical psychology at 40 years old.
I have a son (19) with autism I HAD to do it online because guess what? The brick and mortar professionals have yet to develop a program to assist my family! more importantly my son!
I have life experience and motivation which I am sure you have as well online study is RIGOROUS no cram and testing for this type of program hunh.
Look, I was just offered one position at a social service agency and another for entry level direct care; with a company/organization where there is room to grow. They just want someone who has the aforementioned qualities as well as theory knowledge and morals.....
Our focus isn't research... ya know, it people!
Just keep on looking for positions in the "helping areas" or if you have a passion like I do in a certain area, find and use or create a "model" and implement it in your community! New York like any where else USA could use a good program I am sure, umbrella with a organization.... I know things will work out for you!

hs senior start an online degree program? We Answered:
Yes, there are some accredited (real) and more non-accredited (fake) online colleges out there. But you can't get an online degree in any subject - some involve labs that can't be done online (science, medicine, nursing, engineering). And if you plan to apply to grad school, online colleges aren't a good idea - they don't give you an opportunity to interact with your professors and get involved in research.Tyrone Said:
What's the difference between a traditional BS degree and an online one?We Answered:
Your degree will not state whether your classes where taken one way or the other. It will simply have the name of the university/college. The key is to make sure the college/university is accredited. I have three basic recommendations for everyone looking into online/distance education. They all have to do with exploring; after all, you have to defend your assets.1. Make certain that you have triple checked their accreditation. First, they tell you what it is, then you go to that accrediting body’s website (not through the link provided by the school), and thirdly you would visit the department of education to see what they have to say. Do your diligent research into the institutions once you have narrowed down to a couple. You can look at the Better Business Bureau for more information on the college.
2. You must have extreme self motivation and be able to teach yourself per say. This means that you will not have someone telling you verbally, so it is up to you to get the information from the course room, text, and other resources. The best way to look at it is like a guided independent study course.
3. Review your goals, personal and professional. Make sure that the school that you are going to offers the programs that match your goals. Do not settle. There are many programs that are similar, but you have to make the ultimate decision. Do not let it be based on finances and length of program, but the fact that when you are finished or near finished you will be able to assume your proper place in the career field sought.
You should market yourself and not the degree or university. There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. Look at that if you are truly concerned with the name of the school. Good luck on your search!

HELP is getting a BS degree online worth it why or why not?We Answered:
There are scam sites that aren't accredited schools. They will take your money and gives you a bogus degree. What you have to do is research the school, make sure that it's accredited, and find out about their online programs. Some accredited universities offer online courses, and not all are scams. (i.e. Northeastern University and the University of Georgia offer online courses). Talk to an academic counselor about transferring to online schools.Veronica Said:

Anyone ever completed a BA/BS degree online. What school do you recommend? We Answered:
You are right that there are many online schools. I always recommend that people check with local state schools first. Public state schools will be accredited and in many instances, they will be the least expensive option. If you wonder about a valid accreditation of any school, there are two places you can check. The Council on Higher Education Accreditation is one place that lists schools that are accredited by an acceptable accreditation agency. You can search the database at http://www.chea.org/search/search.asp
The Department of Education also maintains a database of acceptable schools at http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/search.a…
