How to study for the SAT math section if your not good at math?

We Answered:

Yes, get an algebra book with problems at the end of each chapter. Make sure there is a key at the back of the book that has answers for some of the problems. Only do the problems that have answers. Do as many problems as you can, but don't rush. Do each problem until you get the right answer, and then make sure you understand how you got to that right answer, Also, you can do two little things on the side to help. One, practice your good old times tables, 1 X 9 = 9, 2 X 5 = 10, 3 X 4 = 12, 8 X 7 = 56, etc... Get some index cards for this. Practice these until you can do them really fast. This will help you from making little math errors during the test. Also, always remember PEMDAS. (P)arenthesis, (E)xponentials, (M)ultiplication, (D)ivision, (A)ddition, (S)ubtraction. The order of operations. This always applies. Practice it.

Do I have to study for the SAT Reasoning math if I do fine on Math II?

We Answered:

The questions on the SAT II Math II are exactly like all the medium to difficult questions on the SAT math section. If you did very well on that test, then you, just by having the math skills you do, will be prepared for the SAT math section.

But remember, having an 800 on the math section of the SAT as a part of your composite SAT score is more important to colleges than having an 800 on an SAT II Math II exam. Maybe instead of studying, per se, for SAT math, just use the math sections of practice SAT exams as further practice.

Help Me With an SAT Study Practice Math Problem?

We Answered:

10% off means you pay 90%, 0.9 as a decimal. To find 90% you multiply by 0.9
So February price is 0.9P
March is 0.9(0.9P) = 0.81P
And April is 0.9(0.81)P = 0.729P
