Once again, NCHC students will host a charity auction. This year, the students will hold a live auction! Because NCHC has established a tradition of giving back to its host cities, all proceeds will be donated to San Antonio's Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center (www.guadalupeculturalarts.org/) to support the scholarship fund that assists families who cannot afford tuition in Guadalupe's arts education program. This year's auction will be run by honors students from Westminster College, who will be shadowed by honors students from St. Mary's College of Maryland in preparation for their hosting of the auction at the 2009 NCHC Conference in Washington, D.C. Honors directors and students should be creative in thinking about items they might donate for the live auction. Directors should also plan to bring a "hoodie" (if you don't know, ask your students) representing their schools or programs for a raffle during the student party.
